Curriculum

A structured path in Bharatanatyam.

At Kaisiki Dance Academy, students progress through a structured curriculum that builds a strong foundation in Bharatanatyam technique, rhythm, and expression. Training begins with basic adavus, posture, body coordination, eye and neck movements, and gradually advances to abhinaya (expressions), Navarasas, mudras, talas, and dance theory.

Students learn traditional repertoire including Pushpanjali, Alarippu, Jatiswaram, Shabdam, Kauthuvams, Varnam, Padams, and Tillana - while developing confidence, stage presence, musicality, and storytelling skills.

Kuchipudi Curriculum

Grace, agility & expressive storytelling.

At Kaisiki Dance Academy, the Kuchipudi curriculum is designed to develop grace, agility, rhythm, and expressive storytelling. Students begin with a strong foundation in basic adavus, jathis, posture, body conditioning, hand gestures (mudras), eye and neck movements, rhythmic exercises, and tala awareness, building coordination, balance, musicality, and stage confidence. Emphasis is placed on proper technique, footwork, and expressive movement from the early stages of training.

As students progress, they explore character portrayal, abhinaya, and the dynamic movement vocabulary unique to Kuchipudi. Training includes the study of traditional repertoire such as Vinayaka Kauthvam, Jatiswaram, Shabdam, Tarangam, Keerthanams, and dance dramas, while developing a deeper understanding of rhythm, storytelling, and performance aesthetics.
